Route (English)
The Route
In an effort to emulate the real Seven Hills as close as possible, I’ve compiled a ‘safe’ route that’ll get you around just fine. It does not claim to be optimal! It’s just a way to get around if you’re absolutely clueless. You're welcome to improve on this route and save yourself a few minutes.
Start (of course) at the Skiheuvel where you hit the sign and run down the narrow path. Cross the parking lot and you’ll see the Rottebanbrug (bridge) a little to your right. Cross it and immediately after turn right onto the dike.
The Ommoordse Veld will be on your left hand side. First chance you get, leave the dike and head towards the wee hill. It’s not much, but clearly visible from a distance if you pay attention. Roughly alternate between taking a right and then a left and you should get there. If you overshoot you’ll reach a road (President Wilsonweg), but no worries, just go right and follow the road and you’ll still find the hill, albeit with a slight detour. Climb the wee hill, make sure you take a few steps on the (flattish) top.
From Heuvel B you’ll have a nice view and are able to see the next stop: the Tussenbult. Keep the water on your right hand side and it’ll be easy enough to reach. Don’t forget to run all the way to the piece of art, the “spoortunnel” (checkpoint is the sign in front of it, or if you're old school the sculpture itself). All that’s left is heading back to the Skiheuvel, which is easy enough as it’s the highest point near you. Good luck!

Some bits can be viewed very well using streetview. It’s a good tool to plan ahead.

With your first two tops in the bag, head back towards the river Rotte (bearing a bit more left than where you came from) and continue along the dike until you encounter another bridge. This is the Burgmanbrug (on some maps: Varenbrug). That's another checkpoint down as you cross it. Head straight on, you'll be going down a bit. You reach a road (Rottebandreef) and take a right. Best is to cross the road first and take the walking or cycling path. The road will bend to the left pretty soon, but you’ll want to go straight on, over a small bridge (not a checkpoint). Watch out! Quite a few runners missed this bridge in 2020 and got lost! If you go the correct way you’ll see the entrance to the golf course on your left soon enough.
Run up and make sure you leave a few footprints on the circle around the building (see pictures above). After that go right and take the shortest route down. Go straight on from there (foot and cycle path with a hedge in between them). Cross the road, going straight on again. You’ll reach Outdoor Valley and can see Heuvel B with it’s tower from a distance. Go up and tag the tower (it's the checkpoint). Or, if running more leisurely, climb the tower and enjoy the view.
